During his stay in the rescue center the bird was treated against parasites and successfully passed a general strengthening therapy. It gained 500 grams to his weigh and reached its coevals. The right moment for its release back to the wild came when colleagues from the Bulgarian society for the Protection of Birds signalized that another young Imperial Eagle had fallen from its nest. The bird had to be returned to the nest and the experts decided to return him wih a sibling.
The fallen bird was also examined and treated against parasites directly on the field. Both young eagles were marked with GPS/GSM transmitters and were put to the nest.
Fortunately the pair of adult birds successfully adopted the new baby. In a month both young left the nest flying.
Now they have to learn how to hunt and live independently learning from their parents. Thanks to the transmitters we will be able to follow their life and travels more closely.
The saving of the young eagle was possible with the support of the Mennonite Church Society of Holland.
